Rummy ..slipped into the embassy which is considered US soil....
Edited on Sat Oct-27-07 01:49 PM by rodeodance
A friend sent me this------looks like he was not really 'served"

"The deal this time is that they waited until rummy was on French soil...Apparently the meeting place was right next to the US embassy...rummy spoke briefly then splipped out the back door and into the embassy which is considered US soil.... I don't know what happened next....whether he was actually served the papers or what.....or even if the courst is following-up on the charges....The German group that earlier filled in Germany was one of the sponsers of this action. Also this time they had three rummy documents detailing his orders..."

1. WHY IS RUMMY ALLOWED PRIVATE ENTRANCES TO U.S. EMBASSY'S..HE IS NO LONGER EMPLOYED
Edited on Sat Oct-27-07 02:00 PM by flyarm
by the US government..Valerie Plame wasn't given security...and does Rummy have security now?? and if so who is paying for it??

that question was asked of Oliver North if i remember correctly..

if a former Vice President isn't given a ( secret service ) or a security guard..why is Rummy?????????

and i want to know who is paying for it.

and why is a former employee allowed to use the back entrances or passage ways of a US embassy?

and if rummy was there for official business..why was he..he is no longer employed by the American taxpayers..or is he?????????

as an unemployed citizen of the USA he should have to enter and exit like all of us at a US embassy.

i would think........

for security reasons don'tcha know!!...for the security of our employed embassy people..or cia agents..or intelligence people.

why should rummy have free access when he is unemployed by us??????

3. He's a US citizen, a former SECDEF and a public figure.
While it might not be a popular sentiment here, it isn't uncommon for embassies and consulates to provide those sorts of accomodations for US public figures.

As a US citizen, anyone is welcome to visit their embassy while abroad. He was given additional consideration because of his fame and profile. One thing State doesn't want is to have a US citizen attacked, accosted or harmed when they have the means to prevent it.

As for his security personnel, they were probably provided by the outfit that invited him to come speak. That sort of thing is usually included in the contract.

not land in certain countries, France being one, because of his Chile (alledged) crimes.

I hope countries are added to the list for Rumsfeld. I will be so happy.

Try the radical terrorist, Rumsfeld.

Mr Donald TERROR TORTURE TORMENT Rumsfeld from Mt. Misery.

6. Do you remember when he looked right into the CSPAN camera
and shrugged and said, "Digital cameras!" during the Abu Graib hearings? That SOB can't be behind bars long enough.

4. I don't think it matters. In general, you can serve someone
in a number of ways, including venues where you have a reasonable expectation that they'd be. (On the other hand, I'm an English teacher not a lawyer.)

5. Rummy still has an office in the Pentagon. Do you really think
the rest of the top staff would allow one of their fellow rats to really abandon the ship? I bet all of the members of ****'s inner circle who have left their position still have an office somewhere in Washington so they can have quick access to the Oval Office.

I'm sure they all sneak in and out of anywhere they feel like doing so.
