Anderson Cooper-Planet In Peril on CNN
Jaw dropping mini-series about mankind's footprint on planet Earth. I've shed a few tears watching it so far.

I am utterly appalled at what we've done to this planet. We've raped her til she can't be raped no more. If a dollar can be squeezed from a twig then we will fucking squeeze it tenfold. And then we'll find that twigs family and squeeze them out of existance too. All for the all powerful everlasting almighty fucking dollar!

In 2007 polar ice melts surpassed projections set for 2050! ... F***ING 2050!!!

1,000,000 square miles of ice melted in 2007!

Deforestation in Madagascar is causing entire mountains to erode away. Deforested hillsides are collapsing into the earth.

A river of black sludge caused by chemical plant pollution flows for miles through China. Several farms along this river use the black water to irrigate their crops. Dr Sanjay Gupta interviewed area residents until the Chinese Police showed up and told Dr Gupta and his film crew to leave. Clearly intimidation.

Endangered species showing up on menu's in China. Tiger paw's and Tiger penis are considered a delicacy.

The death of the world's coral reefs.

The continuing deforestation of the rain forests.

I highly recommend this series to anyone. It certainly picks up where Al Gore's "An Inconcenient Truth" left off.

1. Think about it, the more mountains eroding into the ocean, the
less space for the water in the ocean to stay where it is. The spaceships need to land, they need to land now and straighten out this place before we disappear ourselves. Yes, Anderson is doing a fine job on this series, doubly recommended for those who haven't seen it.

2. I was shocked to hear
that there are less than 400 Asian elephants left in the wild. Also, the role that China is playing in destroying the planet is appalling!

4. I was also shocked
to hear that China had surpassed America as the worst emitter of greenhouse gas. There is next to zero environmental enforcement happening in China. They open a new coal powered electric plant every 2 weeks. They allow industries to dump very toxic chemicals into rivers. 1.3 billion people are squeezing the land for all its worth. China now leads in CO2 output.

One has to wonder just how far past the tipping point have we gone with this planet?

6. Not my family.
I stopped buying anything made in China. We even began to feed all of our animals a raw diet so that we don't inadvertantly purchase pet food made with grains imported from China. We are doing our best.

3. There were some useful facts however when Anderson
was so disturbed that the women in Niger didn't have plastic bags, the exposed himself as a typical rich phony. Plastic bags are part of the problem. That comment during the preview turned me off.

7. Whats Really Appalling
Americans represent 5% of the planets population, but consume 30% of it's resources!
That's enough just reason to attack us.
