Living in Plato's allegorical cave, we are chained to untruths. Light does not filter in. We are fed lies, manipulations, and skillfully crafted propaganda--or, maybe not so skillfully crafted since sooner or later, a crack developes in that propaganda which allows for some small filtering of truth outing--nevertheless, bush crafter propaganda reaches down to kill the spirit of hope inherent in the policies of a democratic government.

DOOM.DOOM.DOOM. The spirit of doom takes hold of our television sets, the newspapers, and our American ethos. In fact, Bush has quietly transformed our American ethos into a blackwater, mercenary killing machine acting out in Iraq, in the city of New Orleans as well and, so far, only heaven knows where else.

In Bush's gulags and in our cities the rule of law is mocked. Brutality--the inhumanity of man to man runs rampantly triumphant. Jackbooted prison guards. Jackbooted policemen on the streets. Jackbooted border patrols. Jackbooted neighbors.

Bush--a third generation Bush, an understudy of the Hitler regime, has, step by step, drop by drop, silence by silence, fabrication by fabrication, signing statement by signing statement, resurrected the nightmarish specter of a government more interested in bullets, guns, munitions, and killing machines than in the welfare of people.

Bush turns trustworthiness into suspiciousness and dishonesty. Respect into mockery. Responsibility into cast blame, pass the buck, get off the hook. Fairness into unbalance, injustice, and inequality. Citizenship into a disgraceful serfdom populated by human beings thought to be disposable chattel.

As disposable serfs we are to be sent to the slaughter houses of Iraq, Afghanistan, (now possibly Iran) and who knows where else to be determined by the Bush Narcissistic Goal of Supremacy.

Oil. Blood spilling. Occupation of foreign lands. Ransacking of the national treasury have become this deified, narcissistic child's gold, incense and mirth.

Bush, a self proclaimed golden cow, demands these gifts. He is fed by these gifts.

the bullies usually get their comeuppance in the final reel.

If life were like a Hollywood script then Al Gore would come riding in to the rescue at the 11th hour, buoyed by a wave of populist support.

I'm not so sure there's going to be happy ending this time.

2. i love your ending to this national nightmare... we do need a rescuer,

Al Gore or anyone who can really, really, really, rescue us and our country from the hands of such evildoers as the bushes and their thuggish,jackbooted goons. I would love to see that rescuer, whoever she or he is, "come riding in ..., buoyed by a wave of populist support." (and you know, i think there is a wave of populist support for change. the bushes, their propaganda machine, their iron fist, their jackbooted thugs, their repressive machinery are working very hard to keep it from happening).

3. The Bush-Cheney-Republicans

obviously don't watch many Hollywood movies...

three good examples (I can think of off-hand) are Christine, Superman II and Witness
when the smirking bullies pick on the wrong guy...and get what's coming to them.

Hopefully, the Neocons picked on the wrong 300 million people...
