MTP - the Toolishness of Russert on Display
His allegiance to B*shco is in full flower here as he tries to trip up Chris Dodd. He is not succeeding, but he is ignoring Dodd's responses completely. His rhetoric is getting sloppy and he is not as good a tool as he used to be. (Of course he's working with increasingly weak material)

1. Well, Dodd is trailing Stephen Colbert by 2.5% .... and Colbert is polling at 2.5%

2. It was a pathetic attack for the entire interview.
Chris Dodd did well to fend of the hits, but what a disappointment. Dodd has said some great things the past few weeks, but Russert only wanted to pin him in the corner.

6. It's pretty clear that MTP is still filling the role exposed in the Plame Hearing.
Cheney's Office considered MTP to be "their best platform" for getting their message out. .

5. Russert stated as fact that the administration went to telecom co. after 9/11. That isn't true
as they started doing that Before 9/11. Dodd didn't dispute it so to some people, that lie still stands as "fact".

7. Poor Dodd slapped back NEARLY everything that Timmeh
threw at him. It would be asking a lot for one man to debunk the entire fetid steaming load of shit that Bushco has piled up over the past 6 years...

10. You're right about that. The thing is that when I keep hearing these lies
Edited on Sun Oct-28-07 12:17 PM by OmmmSweetOmmm
told over and over and over again and not debunked, I go nuts. That happened the other night for me while watching Real Time. Wes Clark started to say that Iranian terrorists were behind certain events. He started spewing them off and it turned out that these were formerly blamed on Al Qaeda. No one challenged Clark and so a new lie was left to stand.

For the last 6 years I have heard lie upon lie and I just have reached my limit.

13. Don't thank me yet.....
My email bounced back. I send a message to generalcomments@feedback.msnbc.com to let them know the email address they published is not working.

In the meantime, it looks like you can contact Tim from this link:

9. I saw most of that, but IMO Dodd did not do well
His current positions are not consistent with his past statements(which Russert quoted truthfully) and his non-answer on hedge fund taxation was disappointing.

14. Yeah, Russert was in tool mode

Granted he's supposed to question these people, but he did it in this idiotic O'Reilly sort of way. It was like flashbacks to the John Kerry flip/flop ads. Russert, like many right wingers, evidently wants people to make a decision and then stick with it for eternity. Anything else would be admitting failure, I guess. Changing one's opinion on things as new information filters in is evidently out of Russert's level of cognitive ability.

That said, I'm glad I'm not a one issue voter on taxes. I agree that he was completely unprepared to respond to the hedge fund taxation question, and basically responded with, "I have experience here and you'll just have to trust my judgment." That's just not a sufficient explanation. It's something Bush would say.

NOT.

My daughter tried to get tickets, she is a grad student there -- they only did a lottery drawing.
