68% of Americans oppose invading Iran |
|
Contrary to some recent posts here, Dems are not in danger of losing support from voters if they oppose an invasion of Iran. In fact, the opposite is true. http://www.pollingreport.com/iran.htm

1. That's comforting.......... |
|
since a huge majority of the rest of the world thinks the threat is ridiculous and the action would be disastrous.

The Dems in Congress need to hear it from us, clearly, that we will support them in preventing another war. We will not fall for the tired old song and dance of being scared into war.
But, I don't see them listening to us when we tell them that they will not suffer politically if they ended the current Occupation.

They will not stop the craziness, they just can't get a grip on doing the right thing. They will run from this issue and hide. I have totally lost faith in the Democratic leadership.

7. So the question becomes... |
|
What the fuck is wrong with that other 32% ?!?
Are there really close to 100 million of my fellow countrymen who just think nothing of bombing other human beings? Are those people really so stupid and propagandized and terrorized that they think bombing the shit out of and invading another country is a GOOD thing? Don't they know that Iran is largely a nation of children who would love nothing more than to live like we do? Is that going to bring them any closer? Of course there are a few crazies there, but there are crazies everywhere!
Chickens will be coming home to roost soon...

8. The other 32% don't know where Iran IS... |
|
but they know they don't want terrorists coming over here and killing them in their beds while they sleep, so they vote to bomb first.
It's pitiful.

11. Yep, same 32% that think * is doing a good job and Iraq is going well. |
|
Until the * admin got into office, I never realized that 32% of Americans were crazy and delusional. I think the answer is to send those people to Iraq to fight the war they love so much and let our military come home. If the 32% had to fight the war and pay for it, they wouldn't be so gungho for conflict.

15. Surprisingly little data available |
|
its likely opposition to invading Iran is significantly higher. Lack of data shows some media bias.
The polling that is out there mostly appears to be "push" polling - trying to gin up fear and support for an invasion.

Damn. When did a good part of the American population become facists? At the protest yesterday, there were 3 young men with pro-war signs. One of their signs said something like, 'Get out of Iraq and into Iran'. Why these men weren't in the military is beyond me.

Dennis Kucinich is "perhaps" (hum... hum...) the only candidate who will NOT "pre-emptively" attack Iran?
It'd be interesting to know how many of 'em (68%) don't even know his name.

Not my opinion as a Democrat, but the opinion of my Republican, Nam Vet husband. Incidentally, he could care less about Rudy's marriages, banning abortion/birth control, gay marriage (has a lesbian daughter), or ANY of the "values" of the Republican base. He also thinks "his" party has been hijacked by the religious nut cases (his words) and needs to go back to their roots. So much so, he hasn't voted in years.
Hopefully, there are a lot more voters in this country who share his views. Either they won't vote at all (like him) or better yet, will SWITCH.

not as much for Sen. Clinton's position, but for the recent attempts by some to make it appear Dem candidates who oppose an invasion of Iran would "cost them support with voters".
Probably one of the most egregious examples of warmongering by some who claim to be Dems since the buildup to Iraq invasion.
