Feinstein let her fellow Senators down
There is a reason we have a Judiciary Committee in the Senate. There is a reason the Senators on the committee are liberals from relatively safe states. They are supposed to do the heavy lifting on Judicial Nominations. Leslie Southwick is unfit to be a judge. She knows that. But she also knows that many Democrats from red states can't cast votes against these judges. That is why they aren't on the Judiciary Committee.

She put her fellow Senators in a terrible position. Instead of protecting them she forced them to vote on this poisonous nomination. If Feinstein won't do her job she needs replaced on that committee. This wasn't even all that heavy of lifting. The man was a raving homophobe and a racist. This case was easy. Shame on Feinstein.

It's childish, I know, but it infuriates me to see Dems cozy up to that psychotic chimp.

4. Dissapointment from our elected officials is nothing new... Unfortunately.
It seems like they forgot to listen to us. I hope it doesn't come around to bite us in the ass next November.

5. Even more importantly, she let every American concerned about civil rights down
Her actions in helping geth Southwick confirmed are nothing short of disgusting. And that's putting it mildly.

Capitulating like this, is no way to "fix" what some see as a broken confirmation process.

We have a confirmation process for a reason. And I believe part of that reason is to ensure that people nominated by the President, are capable of upholding the laws of our land, including civil rights.

If a nominee seems even remotely incapable of upholding the civil rights of Americans, they do not belong in any position of authority.

11. We need term limits. Incumbents know they are safe in their own party and many become
arrogant. It is impossible to replace an incumbent in your own party and they rely on that.

9. She didn't let us down. She singlehandedly made it happen! The vote was
9-9. Feinstein alone broke the tie, siding with the republicans.
