Friday at the DNC Fall Conference in Manchester, NH I once again had the pleasure of a handshake and chat with President William Jefferson Clinton.
The room was full of staffers and volunteers like me, but mostly Young Democrats and Stonewall Democrats who were holding their convention.
As Bill approached me he turned to the nervous guy next to me and asked how Steve was doing. He then gave the guy a huge hug, turned him around to the crowd and told us that Steve had been a supporter when "my hair wasn't grey". What an incredible man he is.
During the scene with Steve my name tag was knocked off onto Bill's arm and he took it and neatly put it back on my lapel. I don't usually hero worship but I was close to swooning. Then since he had barely slept in 24 hours, he leans on my should and shakes some hands behind me.
In this photo, NH is the extremely handsome fellow on the right with beard, glasses and tie. The President stopped to speak for at least 5 minutes with Emily, Sam and Roger of the
Carbon Coalition. It was an amazing discussion about global warming and the great job Carbon Co is doing educating New Hampshire.
I took a cellphone vid as he was introduced by our great Chairman, Ray Buckley. That is here on YouTube:

I Love New Hampshire!!
