Clinton's Closed Campaign Site Model = Closed, Corporatist Administration?
Edited on Thu Nov-29-07 11:50 AM by CorpGovActivist
Where's the "Search" feature on the Clinton campaign website?

Of the three leading candidates in Iowa, only one has a Search feature on the homepage: that of John Edwards.

As the saying goes: form follows function.

It's a small clue to who stands for open government.

1. seriously?
that's an issue?

"Of the three leading candidates in Iowa, only one has a Search feature on the homepage: that of John Edwards."

shouldn't the title then read "Clinton's and Obama's Closed Campaign Site Model..."? :)

2. Site Design: You Can Bet Someone Asked, "Do You Want a Search Feature?"
And I'd bet that Mark Penn said - "No. It's not triangulation-friendly."

3. Yep, pretty much a standard question asked by website designers I've worked with.

5. Honoring Gore's REGO Commission
At the very least, I'd think she'd want to pay homage to Gore's REGO work: http://www.google.com/search?complete=1&hl=en&q=REGO+gore+reinventing+government

6. But As the Closed Corporatists Learn the Hard Way...
... there are usually other ways for determined investigators to find the information they're seeking in the Information Age.

And when they do, the story becomes as much about how they had to jump through hoops to get http://www.google.com/search?complete=1&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all&q=clinton+presidential+library+records">information that was sealed up in the Presidential Library archive, for instance.

As the obscure Giuliani audit records show, this stuff *will* out.

Librarians, database operators, and other recordkeepers often make the best sources - and they know how to find the needles.
