Am working on a write piece for newspaper on last night's stacked deck debate.

Does anyone have any FACTUAL information on military or civilian career of Brigadier General Kerr, last night's Clinton-planted questioner?

Need to know typical DD214 stuff: Time in service, commissioning source, assignments, any combat or combat area time, active duty service other than ACDUTRA, service schools completed (CGSS, War College, etc> decorations received, Branch, (Infantry, Armor, etc.) when he revealed sexual orientation, any outstanding service good or bad, civilian career, etc.

Understand promotion to BG may have been honorary on retirement from Guard, not federally recognized.

Any help appreciated.

Our country has gone Alice in Wonderland. Is the problem that the question was tough or embarrassing? Was the problem that they let a homosexual not in good standing with the Repub party in? Was the problem that he didn't meet the stereotypical military-republican profile? I don't get it, but CNN doesn't surprise me at all.

Many of the same facts, but adding that he was on a similar kind of thing for Kerry, even though there's at least one case where the reporter writes "Kerry" but obviously intends to write "Kerr".

Didn't watch the debate (or any of them, to be honest). Was there something about the format so that partisans were excluded from the audience? Would any dems mind if somebody on a Bush and then a McCain "steering committee" roster (if they even have such things) was at a dem debate?

IF the answer to the second question were yes, I suspect there'd be a lot of "shit" started up. Pretty much paralleling the "freeper shit", but stinking no less, and of no greater worth.

Now, the way the question was asked was insulting, with a very nice embedded presupposition entailing that the candidates were insulting the troops (sort of the, "Do you still beat your wife?" kind of question). But the underlying question--if you strip out the snark--strikes me as fair.
