A moment to remember the conductor of the Munier Mandolin Orchestra, and my friend |

I need to write this...
Chrisante 'Cris' Ianni, from Abruzzo, Italy, joined the Munier Mandolin Orchestra in 1957. He invited me to join the orchestra in 1993. Cris was 84 when he died.
He had amassed an irreplaceable collection of out-of-print music and rare recordings, and he was delighted to loan them to anyone who shared his interest.
Cris led the Munier Orchestra at the Classical Mandolin Society of America's convention in Philadelphia. If ever a guy visited hog heaven, that guy was Cris during that week.
I have never known anyone kinder or more generous, and I will miss my friend. Adios, Cris.
Regards,
LM

1. A wonderful tribute to someone who was obviously a very exceptional person. |
