Debate should have included Kucinich
Great letter to the editor
http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=103653&src=

The only presidential candidate whose actions consistently demonstrate the truth of his words was absent from the Dec. 13 debate.

The debate sponsor, Des Moines Register, classified Dennis Kucinich as not meeting its criteria. His Iowa director works out of his home rather than an office. In other words, he did not rent commercial real estate in Iowa.

Something is seriously wrong with our media when USA Today/Des Moines Register/Gannett is oblivious to its lack of concern for democracy. It lost my respect.

What relevance has a commercial office? Kucinich is the only candidate who voted against the war. He's the candidate who has long pushed to impeach Cheney.

Working out of the home demonstrates concern for family, environment and energy, self-motivation and the intelligence to make use of modern communication systems.

Look across the world and you'll see that we've become a backward nation, lacking the quality of education and health care existing in all other industrialized nations.

Rather, we are the nation to send our disadvantaged youth into war's destruction.

Kucinich's actions show he is the only candidate having the guts to flick the switch to bring the U.S. up to the progressive and moral position we should hold.

We can wonder if USA Today retaliates for Kucinich's willingness to initiate impeachment proceedings or does it simply make stupid decisions showing disregard for U.S. citizens?

1. Money talks.
Their reason for excluding him was apparently something stupid, like his not paying to rent a campaign office when someone could use their home in Iowa to do the same. But Iowa is just a caucus and Kucinich has been working hard in other states. He will do well in New Hampshire and Nevada.

Strength Through Peace.

2. Pay to play. Pump money into Iowa or forget it.
That's where we are. If I were free, I'd go to NH in a heartbeat.

3. That was just an excuse
If he rented an office, they would have found something else. I just hope it backfires on them.

We never did see Gravel again, after he called Hillary out for voting to pursue war in Iran.
