Who is the most unelectable in your eyes and why? |
|
I am looking at all of these candidate and wondering what will happen when they are going face to face with a republicon and how they will react when the tough questions are hitting them in the general election. I don't see it in either of the so called top tier candidates I am thinking about what the CONS will be saying about each that they aren't saying now. What do you think?

1. Hillary. Big negatives. Little, if any, enthusiasm from the left. |
|
But, any Democrat should be able to beat any Republican in 2008. Even Hillary.

2. of the ECO trio? Edwards. |
|
I like Edwards a LOT. But I think he will face the toughest fight. He's placed himself most firmly against wealthy interests that unfortunately have a lot of sway in the GE. This to me isn't an argument against Edwards though, sometimes you've got to fight and win.

The whole "inevitable" deal was too much for a lot of people. And her supporters, here too, are bullies and have done her campaign no good at all.

6. I must admit, you are right about the bullies..... |
|
I started off basically liking Hillary but disagreeing with her on several key issues and thinking she was unelectable. However, the bullies do grate on you. They made me think less highly of Hillary. Especially when I would read a meme being estalished here and then see Hillary basically say the same thing....as if it was a planned thing.
As to my answer to the above OP....i think Hillary is the least electable. Why? 1) the high negatives, 2) her cool and calculated image, 3) people don't trust her as genuine, 4) the memes have already been planted, 5) she will unite the Reps to a record turnout, 6) Dems will not be so united to work for her, 7) Bill may get involved with another skirt-chase. If he doesn't, they will make it up and it will be BELIEVED, 8) hillary is more aloof than kerry and even more of a flip flopper, 9) she really doesn't have that much experience but there are quotes out there where she values experience 10) people are tired of the old divisive politics.
Oh....I could have shorteneed this... Hillary does not have charisma!

On the Dem side, they're all technically electable, since all have won state-wide elections at some point in their careers. That said (and I hate to say this because I don't support either) Clinton and Edwards seem to be in the best position to win: -Gravel managed to alienate his entire constituency when was in the Senate and has managed to be a lower profile candidate than Kucinich. -From what I've seen, Dodd seems to be equally unable to get anything going for him, even on the Internet. -Kucinich can't seem to get anything going except for Internet polls, so unless he wins something big during primary season, he's toast. -Richardson has struck me as a fairly pedestrian candidate. -Obama can't seem to take his foot out of his mouth as of late. This strikes me as something that could easily alienate large portions of the Democratic base during the primaries and the undecided population in the general election, bit by bit.
On the Puke side, asking who the most unelectable is like asking which of them has the foulest smelling shit.

8. ACK! You are right about that... |
|
If she gets the Dem nomination, we may just get another Repub Prez! They hates them Clin-tons with a fiery passion, they do! And if by the slightest chance she were elected Prez, she would be a complete, lifeless, do-nothing lump on a log... if you think we don't have enough votes in Congress now... just think about this a sec!

A Hillary nomination would motivate a right wing turnout like no other candidate possibly could. In addition, I doubt that many anti-war progressives will vote for her.

The USA is not ready to elect a black President yet.
There is still far too much latent/covert racism for that.
If he wins the nomination, say hello to another 4 years of a rightwing WH.

The right already hated her, and she and her Hbots have done everything possible to piss off those on the left. And her and supporters rhetoric is so poisonous to date, there is no way to triangulate support (kiss and make up) from the left in the general. She has made her bed, now she'll have to lie in it.

15. Hillary because of aipac |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-02-08 10:01 PM by bonito
Because she's going to be up against Rudy because of Aipac. A win win situation for more aggression in the middle east at our expense in so many ways economy, Constitution, recognition among the world, it would be a sad state of affairs.
