Edwards has not been mentioned once on Russert |
|
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 12:33 PM by senseandsensibility
The show started thirty minutes ago on the west coast. It has been ALL Hillary and Obama, as if he doesn't even esist. Will they go another thirty minutes with no mention? They are really pushing this hard.
Edited to add that just as I posted this they started to mention him , but guess what? I know this will shock you: according to them, he doesn't have a chance.

The media likes a story, Ya right, tell me something IO don't know.
- Obama winning Iowa is a big story, this wasn't suppose to happen in White America - Hillary coming in 3rd is a big story, this wasn't suppose to happen - Edwards doing well in Iowa is not a big story, no surprise there, Edwards was suppose to do well
The media are whores for the story, if Edwards won Iowa, he would be the story.

9. Edwards winning Iowa wouldn't be the story either |
|
They'd explain it away saying he lived in Iowa for the past 6 years. Edwards being grossly outspend and underhyped and beating Clinton could be a compelling story. Heck, Ron Paul beating Giuliani in Iowa could be a major story. When Kucinich filed articles of impeachment against Cheney, it could have been a huge story. There's a certain type of story they always ignore. How about when Ralph Nader packed Madison Square Garden in 2000 and it got no coverage?
The media never mentions once that Obama may have been helped in Iowa by living in a neighboring state. Certainly that wasn't the only factor, but it was a factor just like Edwards being in the state for a longer period of time. The media didn't mention that Kerry was helped in NH in 2004 by being from a neighboring state. The media mentioned Dean did well in NH because he was from a neighboring state.
The media has their horses and they stick with them.

and they never talked about him. They didn't even ask him questions in the debates. I think Kucinich got more coverage. Its all unfair but nothing can be done. The media has to air information the public is interested in.
If Edwards is smart, and he isn't always, he'll go for second in New Hampshire. That would shake up the race. Best way for Edwards to do that is to keep out of sight and see if Hillary and Obama go at it. So lack of coverage isn't the worst thing in the world.
