For everyone disheartened by the bar room brawl among the Democratic candidates, take heart.... |
|
Just wait until Giuliani talks about McCain's daily flip-flopping and senility, and Romney talks about Guiliani marrying his cousin and having trysts in the Gracie Mansion while his wife was battling cancer, and McCain criticizes Romney for having two faces on same-sex marriage and abortion, and Sam Brownback accuses all of them of not loving the Lord Juh-heezus. And we haven't even tossed nuts like Gingrich and Tancredo into the mix yet. The Dem squabbles will look like a peace rally.

6. I disagree, I don't consider them to be fights... They are debates.. |
|
and nothing wrong with them, IMO.... Some disagree with others, and that is a debate.... ie: My preference is to not see Hillary gain the Primary nomination... That's a debating point, and I have my reasons as do others in either direction.

8. There is NO bar room brawl |
|
There is only Hillary doing what she does best - smearing the opposition because she doesn't want to face them head to head.

10. Once again... Hillary is only there because she was married to Bill.. |
|
Hillary has no agenda, and is a Hawk... She will not make it very far with her attitude IMO....
If what was rumored, that Obama thinks that we should support Israel is true, then you can count him out quickly as well..... I don't know that this is true, just read a thread on Du the other nite that stated that.... I really do like him for President, so I hope that it is not true...
Oh, and just to be clear, I love women in Politics, Business, and anything else that they venture into... Just play by the rules that all others must obide by is all that I ask.

12. Here's a news flash, Ace. Obama DOES support Israel. |
|
As do all the other candidates with even the slightest chance of getting nominated.
Tough titty if you don't like it.

I generally avoid the campaign-related posts, except for today obviously, because I just don't care yet. The election is 1 year and 9 months away. I really wish we had publicly-financed campaigns and E.U.-type rules limiting the campaign season. That would put an end to all of this foolishness. And honestly, we need Obama, Clinton, Dodd, Biden, Kucinich et all in Washington right now a lot more than we need them running around the country.

after 20 more months of this the next election will bring us the lowest turn out in history. People will be so turned off they won't waste the energy to go to the polls and vote for anyone.

15. I totally agree with you.... These people should be in DC doing... |
|
the peoples business instead of a 2 year campaign..... They are getting paid by the people to do just that, and very good $$$$$ at that I might add.... The problem is, that it would have to be for both parties.... (although, I don't really see much competition from the Repubs. at this point in time).

Not particularly worried about the Republicans mud slinging among themselves. IMO thats good. However, the current political wisdom is that character assination of you opponents, gains you the most ground. With a year and a half to the the Dem convention, I see a lot more of this type of stuff happening. It will only aid the Republican efforts. It will not help our cause.
