Sometimes I think they hate her more than they hated Bill? I don't know why?? She seems like a very nice and likeable person. Just a note on the bright side if Hillary were to win... :-)

16. Yeah. Federal building across the U.S. would have to ratchet up the security.
The next Timothy McVeigh is out there somewhere...

3. While the thought of upset right wingers is appealing, I think that presents a key problem
I don't have any doubt at this point that Hillary would energize the Republican voters to get out and thwart her far more than Obama would.

I also don't want another 4 or 8 years of polarizing politics. While I don't think Hillary's politics are polarizing, and the right wing hatred of her is VERY unfair, it is a reality we've got to face when we think about the general elections.

I'm with you on the point that it will be fun to watch the Republicans' heads' explode over her presidency should it happen, but I'm tired of tit for tat Clinton/Bush hatred.

20. Obama will energize right wing men. Deep inside they fear Black men,
especially a handsome, smart, and charming man like Obama. You think they saw Bill Clinton a sexual rival, just wait. That mentality is still out there and I have no doubt it will surface.

I am from the south, I've seen it all my life. There's a clear sexual side to racism.

Still, that is no reason not to go with Obama, just as the right wing hatred of women and Hillary in particular, is no reason not to go with her.

25. I disagree, I think there's some of that, but they sense the alpha in him. I detect a man-crush
amongst Republican men. Seriously, that's been my experience. Men just kind of think he's cool.

I've definitely heard the good ol', "Now THAT'S the kind of black guy I could be friends with", from the typical office and family righties I've dealt with.

40. I think the g.r.i.t.s. think he's pretty hot, too.
Let's not underestimate them too much. I've been surprised at the righties I've heard saying positive things about Obama--men and women, young and old.

In their own racist way, they see Obama as what they wish the black race would become. Or rather, what they expect black men to act like. This is their perspective I'm trying to pin down, not mine.

41. Oh sure, the younger and more thoughtful will see him differently.
His advantage has been the lack of living with the legacy of slavery. He has a lot of Africa in him, and none of the pain handed down by the families of slaves. He has the strength of a free man.
No matter how educated and "proper" the pain of hundreds of years of being a cast off will appear. No matter how open and accepting a white is, we feel the pain and guilt over what we did. Some do something about it, some can't handle it. Obama, because he doesn't have that pain, can speak to us without reminding us of the horrors we imposed.

John Lennon said "one thing you can't hide, is when you're crippled inside." In other words, you can't hide your pain. It will come out. Out of a sense of self preservation, we avoid pain in ourselves and others. We don't need to protect ourselves when we see Obama. He has the strength of a free man.

I have some Armenian blood in me. I try to be civil around the Turks, but my history makes it difficult to mask that pain.

In my humble opinion, the election was lost the moment the public rolled over and accepted the corporate media's two approved candidates. I don't think either has a chance in hell of winning.

Neither of these candidates will crush their Republican opposition. A crushing victory is the only way a Democrat will actually take the WH. If it's close enough to steal, you can bet your ass it'll be stolen.

I don't know how so many people can still manage to do it, but I think they're overestimating this country's character and intellect. We'd opt for a raving white male lunatic over a rational, sincere minority.

The Senate and House RePukes will obstruct and criticize at every opportunity and if she as as much as farts they will move to impeach her.

18. oh puhleeze. .. .rightwingers bit*h and moan and whine about everything and everyone
...including themselves. They are having fits over the prospect of John McCain. They have always been obsessed with hating Hillary Clinton - nothing makes an impotent wingnut feel more challenged than a woman who can prove she is smarter and more capable than one of them. And yes, they can be counted on to repeat every "Hussein is a Muslim" remark they can get on their sorry-ass talk radio shows to attack Obama.

Right wingers don't have solutions - they are only good at creating problems. They live on fear-and-smear and for the last eight years the entire nation has put up with their verbal and written tantrums in our newspapers, on our airwaves, on the streets. Maybe its time for the rest of the country, which rarely gets a voice on any media, to tell the bullies that no one gives a sh*t what they think - it ain't like any of them has really ever contributed to this country.

If they didn't have anyone to hate, they'd create someone to hate - they have nothing else going for them.
