1st time in 10 years, Norway gets extreme weather

http://hisz.rsoe.hu/alertmap/index.php?smp=&lang=eng

An extreme weather warning was in place for southern and south-eastern Norway Thursday morning as the region braced for rain and gale force winds along the coast from the storm "Tuva". The storm was expected to hit the Oslo region in the afternoon. This is the first time in almost 10 years that an "extreme weather" warning has been issued in the Østlandet region. The coastal areas are expected to be hardest hit, with waves reaching up to eight metres high. Insurance companies were advising people to secure their boats and to fasten down all loose items outdoors, including trampolines. The extreme weather conditions are expected to last for about four to five hours.)

1. "including trampolines"???
:wow: For some reason, I just can't envision winter trampolining at such a scale to warrant specific mention. I must lead a sheltered life.

4. Well, I consider myself 100% Viking ... 50% Norwegian.
(My maternal grandparents were Norwegian immigrants around 1917 ... from Oslo and Mosjoen.)

Trying to imagine either of them on a trampoline is beyond my mental abilities. Telemark skis? No problem.

5. Summer trampolining is for babies.
It takes a real athlete to bounce amid the ice shards.

6. Um, where do you store yours when you're not using it?
My bet is, the same place you do when you are. Or perhaps leaning up against a fence. Not really something you can pop into a cupboard somewhere.

7. Garage. They fold up.
Leaving them out in the winter isn't somethnig that I'd do ... not and expect the thing to work in the spring.

9. Hmm. Norway, trampolines. Is this the beginning of a new beer commercial campaign?
Move over Swedish bikini team, the Norwegian trampoline squad has arrived.
