If they run a relative secularist on the top spot, they'll need a bible thumper in the #2 spot to try to convince the fundies that gawd will still be in the White House.

3. He won't be Veep--I just don't see it. The evangelicals will have |
|
nowhere else to go, and as long as the R nominee is pro-life enough, they'll show up to vote. McCain is pro-life enough. Roody was the only one who would have caused the Religious Right to stay home in protest.

4. Huckabee seemed rather peeved at being shoved off to the side |
|
during the debate. If he does well in the southern primaries, look for him to demand more attention. If he doesn't get it, he might be tempted to go third party.

5. He will collect some delegates on Super Tuesday because of southern states, but |
|
that'll be the end of the road, and he'll give those delegates to McCain--however, I don't think McCain will reward him, and there's no chance Huck will run third-party--he can't raise money as it is, and it takes significant effort/money to get on the ballot as an Indie, and it isn't even allowed in some states after losing the primaries. Would be nice to see the fundies split the R vote though.

6. I think Romney will say that a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain. |
