An Open Letter/Constructive Suggestion (I Hope) to the Admins
First, a short preface: I wasn't aware of DU in 2004. The "what ifs" on that kill me (I would probably have spilled about the Halliburton/KBR thing then, if I'd realized there was a safe haven like this).

Second, a short critique (to be followed by a solution; don't carp without a solution): with one Presidential election cycle under the ol' belt, and a few years between shortened cycles, um, why wasn't GDP up and running a month before Iowa? If you'll have me until 2012, I would hope this will be the case.

Third, a proposed solution, to harness disaffected Biden, Dodd, Edwards, Gravel, Kucinich, and Richardson supporters' good ideas for the General: create GDSH (General Discussion: Strategic Haven) now. Don't wait. Give us passionate, grieving partisans a special place of our own to feel like we're valued and contributing to a November win. Let us be the vanguard of good thinking, oppo research on the GOP, and smart ideas for rapid response counter-attacks. Let us have some solution sets refined and ready.

Please. And thank you.

- Dave

P.S. For what it's worth, the forum number for GDP should've been 666, not 132. Just sayin'.
