Someone who embodied why I am a Democrat died today, Marilyn Praisner
I have lived most my life just outside DC in Montgomery County, Maryland, a very very Democratic County of just under a million very diverse inhabitants. To me, the Democratic Party has mostly meant local people that truly embrace public service and don't see political office as some sort of path to fame, they just give a damn and want to make their home a better place to live. They're our neighbors that put our core principles in action. One of those neighbors that gave of herself exhaustively died of complications from heart surgery today, Marilyn Praisner.
