Long Sting Was GOP Revenge Trick - another Siegelman?

<snip>
The dirty political tricks of the Tricky Richy Nixon Republican Party continues here in Hamilton County.

Showing their hatred of any Democrat beating the blessed John Cupp, conservative federal Republican prosecutors obviously formed a politcal dirty trick plan to take down the sheriff, Billy Long, and to give local county Democrats a bad reputation.

By the looks of the opinions in the Chattanoogan.com already, the political hacks in the prosecutor's office have succeeded.

Karl Rove got what he wanted out of the federal prosecution office when he got rid of federal prosecutors not towing the political hay; dirty tricksters just like him.

Chattanooga, TN - Hamilton County Sheriff Billy Long -- who after his election victory in August 2006 pledged to "take the department to a higher level" -- now is in federal custody on extortion, money laundering and gun charges.

Sheriff Long, 55, was escorted into U.S. District Court on Saturday afternoon in jeans, a denim jacket and handcuffs. FBI agents had arrested him several hours earlier, the next step in what they said was an approximately 10-month investigation that is continuing.

Authorities said he will remain in custody at an undisclosed location pending the outcome of a bond hearing set for 2 p.m. Monday. Assistant U.S. Attorney Gary Humble said he plans to ask that the sheriff be detained, as he is "a danger to the community."

1. If he is guilty send him to jail.. Just because he may be a Democrat doesn't mean
I will stand by him no matter what. Particulary a policeman. They have an awful lot of power and if they use that power to commit crimes they should get the book thrown at them. I am for Law and Order not Partisan Law and Partisan Order.as the Republicans seem to be..
