Ok, what's with the Declaration of Independence before the Super Bowl? |
|
Is this a usual thing or what?
Super Bowl is a political thing now?

Nixon was very visible at the Superbowl during the Vietnam War. The NFL and the political elite are very close. It's all about symbolism.
Still that was hilarious given the violations of civil liberties and the divisiveness spewed on Fox. Remember though that as the sun goes down, they will be remembering the Veterans living under the bridges.

Strikes me as a wee bit nationalistic
Now, if we lived in a country that wasn't waging illegal wars, torturing people, shredding the Bill of Rights, then claiming everyone that isn't for us is against us, I might have a different take...
but we do live in a country where people in government do equate "patriotism" (coughchokespew) with acceptance of whatever crime the President wants to commit.

Since when did the Declaration of Independence become a propaganda document of the republican party? I think you're just doing them a favor by going so ballistic. Lighten up a little.

15. It didn't become a propaganda document of the Republicans... |
|
but it was used exactly as though it were one in the piece run before the Super Bowl. Pretty gross, nationalistic misinterpretation of the document, if you saw it.

The DOI was an incredible, eloquent, ground-breaking document in the evolution of democracy. Fox network or not, everybody needs to hear what it had to say, as often as possible. (Repuglicans especially could use a refresher in what a democracy is all about!)

12. Did they read all the grievances against England? |
|
Because if you read them, at least 80% apply directly to the douchebag in the Oval Office now.

16. Wow-this strikes me as a slap in the face to the good people of this country by Faux News. |
|
Those bastards KNOW and support that * & Co are shredding the Constitution, the very foundation upon which this country was built!
For Faux to present the Declaration of Independence in this way at this time and place in this countries history is absolutely diabolical.
Their evil knows NO bounds! :puke:
