On a Topix discussion about this, we have the following proclamation:

After I pointed out that stealing from children is more of a GOP value, I was told:

"And you go back to your ivory tower. 50 years of "It's everybody's fault but the person committing the crime" attitudes in the education system as well as the judiciary leads to exactly what happened here, two spoiled brats with no remorse."
