Fourteen people narrowly escaped a devastating East Palo Alto house fire when an alert little girl warned her family members early Sunday morning.
The fire, which was reported at 1:12 a.m., took off intensely just after the five adults and nine children got out of the house on 2393 Glen Way. There were no injuries.
"It's amazing they all got out," said Fire Battalion Chief Tim Campbell. "She truly saved their lives."
Campbell said he didn't know how the age of the child.

As any bay area resident knows, E. Palo Alto is a notorious ghetto.

Could this fire have been caused by the fact that ridiculous housing prices had forced FOURTEEN PEOPLE to stack up in one small house?

990 sq. ft. - 14 people.

Zillow estimates this house to be worth 550K.

1. I agree that's a horrible situation
But the address of the house that burned is 2393. The one you show is 2288 Glen Way.

2. You're right - I corrected it.
No record of the sale price. But dang that's tiny for 14 people.

3. There's a house down the street from me
that is a rental and I regularly count 6-8 cars at any given time. This house is only about 1400 square feet and there are are probably 10 to 15 people living there.

4. Damn Bush!
Things like this really make my blood boil!

It is because of the war -- and the resulting economy -- that people are forced to live in situations like this.

I wish that we could impeach Bush, convict him, and force him and his family to live like this!!
