While sitting on my ass today, I made more money than I could make as a temp in a week.
I had enough to day trade.

I got lucky and had a bit of a windfall recently that allows me to invest in certain things.

I have always been a buyer and seller so this is a natural progression of one thing I enjoy doing.

I have carried bricks to and from a wall for eight hours with the same intelligence I have today.

I have worked 300' above the ground building scaffolding at a 3M plant for less than I made today.

I have spent the day digging post holes in swamplands for less than I made today.

I have spent ten hours in a retail store, a restaurant, a telemarketing room... and never made as much as I made today.

How much have I made today?

$300.00 at the moment. Wow. I'm sure that a lot of you are worth a lot more than I am.

I spent 4 years in college. Ask me about Twain or Joyce and we can have a great discussion.

Ask me about economics? Hey, I was an English major.

I did work as a temp for quite a while not too many years ago. I bussed tables, I cleaned up after those who could afford the $7.00 an hour that the temp agency would pay me $5.00.

There's something wrong here. Something terribly wrong.

The people that actually make a product or produce a needed service are subjugated to those of us that only sit in a chair and decide when to buy or sell.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a very small player that still has to get sick beyond belief to justify going to a doctor or hospital in America.

In 1980 I accused the "money jugglers."

It's time for a change.

3. Ownership Society
Anyone who mentions that catch phrase should be tarred and feathered and run out of town.

I agree with you. Actually contributing to society should be worth more than just making bets with money.

4. Wait until the IRS takes a look at you! I had a friend who was day trading
in the late 90's and using the same money in and out over and over again. Of course, if you added it all up it looked like a LOT of money. Made the IRS want to audit her records! So, beware! Keep good records.

8. Nice thing today is that all your trades can be downloaded directly into
your return if you are using a major trading firm.

10. People can make a lot from gambling too
I've turned 100 into 1000 at the blackjack tables and 50 into 800 playing poker, got lucky a few times and was able to capitalize on that luck, that's all.

Day Trading is much the same, with less risk (you won't ever lose it ALL) in a market that trends upward over the long term.

But don't expect to support yourself based on recent results, very few can do that.
