Google Ad Placements

I'm seeing them appear in posts for the first time while I'm logged on.

They're distracting.

Just my 2 cents ....

7. I sure do......... however, now the ads are gone... they seem to come and go

Perhaps I've just picked times to look at DU when they're not on? Who knows.

I had thought it was because I have them turned off in my preferences, but I guess that's not the case. I don't really mind ads that much, but my connection can slow down sometimes to the point that they effect my browsing.

Someone set up my computer for me with "Mozilla Firefox" and I don't see many ads - not sure if it's all built-in or not though.

Yes, I have google ads disabled. But some threads have a box on the right and an ad below the OP. Or it will be one without the other. It appears to be completely random.
