4. I don't know. It's like a train wreck. He's got minute-long pauses
between phrases and words, and makes absolutely no sense. Somebody needs to retire him.

5. I know he is old, but he seems much worse than usual today
He is done now, but it took forever for him to get a sentence out. And it wasn't very coherant.

We need someone to step in and take over where he's leaving off.

9. The man is dying MM
he hasn't looked well since his beloved wife passed a couple of years ago-you know how that always seems to go with lifelong partners, when one goes the other isn't going to be far behind

11. Yep. He's the only sumbitch that stood up and waved the Constitution when Bush was trying to wipe
his ass on it. Yet some will still toss that racist bomb at him when he's apologized repeatedly for his idiotic error of judgment in his youth if he does something they don't like.

I hope he hangs on for awhile. I think he'd like to see a Democrat in the WH.

16. and that is when I found a place in my heart to love him
personally I think it says a lot about a person who can say today that yesterday they made a mistake, an error in judgment if you will

17. Indeed. The "Unforgiven" crowd don't get that 'quality of mercy' vibe, which
says something about how unprogressive some people who supposedly prize "tolerance" can be. It's interesting to see--not in a good way, more like "car wreck" interesting, when I see piling on about that guy on this forum for a mistake he atones for repeatedly.

13. Yes, he is probably too old to adjust
My dad died a few years ago, my parents were married over 50 years. My mom is doing pretty well with the adjustment. If it had happened the other way around, I don't think my dad would have done well at all.

Arrogance of Power
Today, I Weep for my Country...

by US Senator Robert Byrd
Speech delivered on the floor of the US Senate
March 19, 2003 3:45pm

<snip> "Why can this President not seem to see that America's true power lies not in its will to intimidate, but in its ability to inspire?" <snip>

P.S.
Kind of reminds you of someone,no? ;)

14. Aww. Well, let's send the gentleman a few DU prayers to hold on until the new Dem prez is in
He's been a treasure indeed in our struggle to keep the Bush juggernaut from completely destroying our Constitution.

Gods bless him.
