Movement Conservative Implosion |
|
It does sound too good to be true, but maybe it really has happened? The best evidence, IMHO, is that the pukes are going around calling each other "liberal" and front and center on this is John McCain.
What precipitated this implosion? Of course they (movement conservatives) have to find some way to pin it on "Liberals". It's our fault, of course. Not theirs. It's never their fault.
And therein lies the rub. All along that which bound them was their tragic flaw. With the fall of the Bush administration, their hatred of "Liberals" has had to expand. There are Liberals everywhere undermining real "conservatives", or whatever such nonsense pulses through them.
I'm not typing these next words with a straight face, mind you. Ideologically undeterred, many of them are saying they actually want a Democrat in the White House. By their "logic" McCain is really a Democrat and with a Democrat in office all hell is going to break loose. I mean, their ideology has been so effective over the last 7 years so we're going to be lost with them in the political wilderness. Right?
Excuse me for a moment. . . Okay. Better.
One thing is sure. The Bush administration is leaving an unfathomable mess and it's going to be very difficult to clean this up. It's downright depressing. I trust either Clinton or Obama to get to work fixing this stuff and if they let me down I'll be where I imagine "conservatives" find themselves right now.

1. Actually, while it's a huge mess, the fix is pretty straightforeward: |
|
1) Undo everything * ever signed, including the X-mas cards. 2) Put competent people in place to re-organize and clean out every governmental agency. FCC, HHS, DOJ, EPA, Interior, BIA, BLM, State and FDA at the top of the list. 3) Immediate repeal of the ill-advised tax cuts and corporate welfare. 4) Withdraw from Iraq and deal with the consequences. Let the UN take care of it, or the neighboring countries. If necessary, tell them we're letting Israel come in and see how fast the Iraqis begin to cooperate. 5) Promote and begin an Apollo style program for energy independence. 6) Provide tax breaks and cash incentives at the consumer level for energy efficiency and alternative energy. 7) Restore the Constitution and the Rule of Law, then enforce them. 8) Restore balance to the budget, not to cut necessary spending but to spend more at home and less on war and weapons. 9) Close Gitmo and dozens of other non-vital overseas bases. 10) Legally challenge and end corporate personhood. 11) Demand genuine, substantial campaign and election reform.
Not in order of importance, nor a complete list, but it's a beginning. Sure it's going to be an ugly first term, but what alternative do we have?

I can't wait until we get the opportunity to work on it, but that really isn't the gist of my post.
I'm exploring the current "conservative" psyche and I'm looking for ways to twist the knife and cause as much damage as possible for the brand of conservatives that drove us into this ditch. If we can do this we will be able to work our list more effectively and efficiently.
