"PBS mind in a Fox News world"
A bumpersticker I saw today. Gave me a chuckle.

5. Because it turns off undecideds and moderates.
And no, I hate Faux News even more than posters who put words in my mouth.

"putting words in (your) mouth?

7. It reinforces the stereotypes pushed by the right
of the liberal with an attitude of superiority.

You don't seriously think it will help, do you? Those who agree will laugh, those who don't will get pissed, and we're back where we started.

9. Yes, let's continue to tip-toe around the right.
We might hurt their fweelings.

10. Saying I'm smarter than you is elitist.

It's funny, just not that helpful.

13. Not really
Saying "I'm smarter than you and therefore better and my life is more valuable than yours, you stupid little waste of oxygen." is elitist.

But there actually are differences in intelligence between individual humans. Acknowledging that is not elitist - you don't have to automatically attach value judgements to differences. Just saying that I am smarter than another person does not mean that I am better and more worthy and valuable than them. And I don't get the idea that the bumpersticker is talking about individuals and their worth at all - I interpret it as saying that the owner of the car is unhappy with the current media culture.

I guess it's like an inkblot and you see yourself reflected back at you.

12. Yeah,
the sentiment may be true, but it reinforces the stereotype of the snooty latte liberal.

Similarly, I saw a woman driving a Prius with a "What Would Jesus Drive?" bumper sticker. She had the smuggest, most self-satisfied look on her face, and it just made me want to go buy a HumVee. Just because you're right doesn't mean you have to be a jerk.

16. Deliberately pissing off the other side is the whole problem.
Think what we could solve if that weren't an issue on either side.
