He said the GOP was "dispirited." He sounded kind of beatdown and conciliatory. The GOP fall in the midterms, and then having a hated by the far-right guy like McCain on the verge of the nomination must have taken a toll on him.

I remember DeLay even when he resigned from Congress to be defiant and gloating. He seemed quite a bit different today. If DeLay is so dispirited I can only imagine how the rest of the party feels like. It's evident in the turnout that Dems are much more excited about the race than the Repubs. I wonder how much that lack of enthusiasm will hold until November? This sure has been a wild election season.

I once wrote a column about that for opednews. He should be announced as "disgraced former Republican congressman...."

But other than that, his demeanor was very interesting to me.
