"But we only waterboarded three times..."
"Waterboarding" is forbidden by International Law. It's illegal to waterboard. It's much like saying, "We've only robbed three banks and only kidnapped three people but we had to kill three people during the process..." This should be unacceptable to the Congress and the American people. These criminals admit their crimes and yet, we do nothing.

2. I agree.
There should be no reason to believe it only happened three times.

12. It fits Bush's personality perfectly. When he was at Yale,
and one of the underclassman complained to his parents about the hazing, namely Bush branding the guys ass with a hot coat hanger, Bush's defense was, "it's not any worse than a cigarette burn." In other words, burning people with cigarettes is okay.

5. Three times that they feel they have to admit to
Probably lots more than that, though.

11. Three ...
times is what they KNOW can be proved. What they think might be proved is a larger number. The largest number is the number that they KNOW can't be proved.

As for police departments. Maybe they will torture and maybe they won't but we know for a fact that private "security" firms do and will and have been ordered to in case of "emergency."

Sharpen your pitchforks.

6. "I only shot heroin three times"
What he's leaving out: that's how many times he did it since breakfast.

7. In effect, Cheney is daring the country to arrest him
Cheney: "Would I do it again? You're damned right I would" (followed by wild applause from the Ultra-conservative audience at CPAC).

We must not let him get away with this. We MUST NOT.

8. Didn't they destroy the tapes, so how can anyone tell they only water boarded three times?
They might have done it thirty times or three hundred times, personally I believe water boarding once is once too many.

I look at it in the same vein as capital punishment, someone can only be executed if they are found guilty without a reasonable doubt, but in reality, innocent people have been exonerated after spending years on death row and no doubt innocent people have been executed, because of race or they didn't have financial means for an adequate defense, etc.

Should they convince the Congress that torture, and that's what water boarding is can only be allowed under extreme circumstances, I have no doubt it will eventually be treated with all the reverence of tazing someone.

9. Several people died in custody...
I don't know the exact number. I would not be surprised that some may have died from "waterboarding"? We simply do not know.
