Isn't it wonderful that we (the younger) can drive to the mall instead of freeze to death (like the elderly) in our homes?

We can't really CONSUME the most unless we have throw-aways ... and throw-away people.

9. I have a two-sided gas wall heater that I seldom turn on.
It's not sufficient to heat the whole house, even if I did leave it on for hours. I crank it up for a few minutes and stand right next to it, to "take the cold out of my bones"...

But this 3 cents celebration?

Count me out.

People (especially the 20-somethings) are warming themselves at the mall. The parking lot is FULL of cars - mostly SUVs and small trucks.

14. And that, in a nutshell, is the George W. Bush "legacy"...
...because I challenge anyone to point out a time during the Clinton years in which "People were warming themselves at the mall."

18. I've been watching the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and longing for the days I attended.
Living in Sillycon Valley was wonderful ... especially in February when I could drive down to Carmel and traipse around the courses and watch the golfers at one of the most beautiful places in the entire world. I wallowed in it. I gave "thanks" every moment of it.

Believe me ... I did leave my heart in the Bay Area. It will always be "home" to me. The people, the climate, the geography ... perfect.

any cheap, made-in-China-by-slave-labor crap at your local Wal-Mart to spend it on?

15. "Back in the day," I used to be a fan of The Eagles...
...and I have refused to venture into Wal-Mart to buy their new CD, despite Don Henley's enthusiasm over their efforts to "go green."

Henley's pretty much Tiffany-twisted, and has the Mercedes bends. In other words, another filthy rich ex-hippie who should be the LAST man on earth telling me why I should shop at Wal-Mart.

The Eagles...collectively, and individually...can BITE me.

But Henley's gotta go FIRST.
