If I can donate to DU you can

I wonder why so many names here have no star after their name. Many of these names post a lot of threads and/or replies.

I do spend a lot of time here even though I don't post a lot. I do click on a lot of links though.

Some may be waiting for the next donation drive and that's understandable but, some names here have gone without donating for eons.

I'm not going to tell you my figure of income but my Income Status as rated on my Section 8 evaluation/certification is: Extremely Low.
The Extremely Low Income Limit is $12,350.
I assure you I am far below that limit.

If I can donate at this level, I wonder about many here.
Why can't you toss some coin into the site?

If so, there's a blue "Donate' button in the upper right corner. Click that, and then it will walk you through the process.

9. I was planning on donating.

But at about my 19th post I was told to go away by a long time member. Doesn't really inspire me to donate money to tell the truth.
That isn't to say I won't. because I have been a long time reader and big fan of DU. I think I would like to sit back and see if this was normal procedures for new posting members or not, or if I accidentally stepped into the crap that wasn't mine to step in, but it is really making me think twice about donating.

10. Don't sweat that petty crap

It seems many don't take the time to look at a persons profile to see when they joined before assuming they are a newbie. There are plenty of people that have been members for 3 or 4 years that very low post counts. It does not mean anything more than the fact that they haven't posted much. It is not a reflection on your devotion to the cause or your being a Democrat.


I've been here for 4 1/2 years now and my daily average post count is around 2.5. There are also plenty of members that have well over 1000 posts and have been here only a few months. There are people who have been here longer than me and have a daily average of over 10. Having a large post count is not a guarantee of anything, merely an indication of how a person chooses to spend a large portion of their free time.

Don't let the arrogance of certain members who would insist you aren't worthy because you reserve comments to determine if you should stay or not.

13. What you have to know about DU...

is that there are a lot of A-holes on here. I'm surprised that you haven't received a lot of "welcome to DU" responses to your posts. When I first signed up I thought that this was the friendliest place on the internets with all of the welcomes I got. To me, DU is an invaluable place to get information and swap talking points. I hype it up all the time with my friends.

that the only time i hear from DU administrators is when they want money? i can send them email till the cows come home & nary a reply enters my box. but oh, when they need money they know where to find me ... and fast too!
