TPM's Democratic crossovers on FISA.....
http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/02/senate_votes_for_retroactive_i.php

The Senate voted on the Dodd/Feingold amendment, which would have stripped retroactive immunity from the surveillance bill just now. The final tally was 31-67; crossing over to vote nay were Sens. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), Evan Bayh (D-IA), Daniel Inouye (D-HI), Tim Johnson (D-SD), Herb Kohl (D-WI), Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Claire McCaskill (D-MO), Mark Pryor (D-AR), Blanche Lincoln (D-AR), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Ken Salazar (D-CO), Tom Carper (D-DE), Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), Jim Webb (D-VA), Ben Nelson (D-NE), Bill Nelson (D-FL), Kent Conrad (D-ND), and Debbie Stabenow (D-MI). Update: Here's the official tally.

Presidential candidates Sens. John McCain (R-AZ) and Barack Obama (D-IL) were present for the vote – voting nay and yea, respectively.

1. Bill Nelson's office did not tell me the truth. I knew it.
http://journals.democraticunderground.com/madfloridian/1787

They told me he did not support immunity, and that he supported the Dodd amendment.

5. Bill Nelson is a DLC asshole
You know that, madfloridian, so please stop trusting him. You set yourself up for disappointment.

3. The only surprise was Mikulski
I know that she knows better. The rest are conservatives and do not.

21. Her office told me she supported it when I called.
I think she needs a primary challenger in a few years.

22. I think all these DLC tools need primary challengers
the next time their terms are up.

Really.

9. Him and McCaskill are not...no
Edited on Tue Feb-12-08 01:06 PM by Zodiak Ironfist
But they were recruited and financed by Schumer (DSCC), who favors DINOs over progressives (and Schumer takes money from the DLC for trips).

The same moneyed interests are behind both, but since the DLC doesn't publish its member list any more, we can't be really sure if they are in it or not.

But they vote just like the DLC...and they were brought to the table by the same people who recruit the DLC, so draw your own conclusions.

10. I just fired off a letter to him
I've called his office on this issue and was assured he was against immunity, yet when the vote counted, he showed his true colors. I can't begin to describe the deep despair I'm presently feeling.

20. someone at kos commented on this:
"Considering Sprint/Nextel and AOL are headquartered in Virginia, along with big representation from Verizon.

He won in 2006 by 0.3% of the vote...

Based on this, I disagree with his assertion that he "voted based on his beliefs". He voted to keep his political life in VA."

IS THIS CORRECT?

4. The 'usual' whore's list of Dems..
The Repubs are usually lapping the corporations commands, so they never surprise, but never give in. The Dems always seem to have their price, but all can be had.

8. Worthless. All of them.
As I said on my blog, I wouldn't take the time to piss on any of them if they were on fire.

We sent them to DC to work for us, and they have failed in that charge. And what's more, they failed on purpose.
