7. Maybe she figures if McCain can get away with it, on the stimulus bill, she can do it on FISA.

8. Remember her bad press from Kyl-Lieberman is still haunting her perhaps
she didn't want folks (Dem voters on one side vs telecom giants on the other) pissed.

9. That makes me pretty angry.
She wants to lead this country.

Well, show some leadership, for cryin' out loud.

Every senator should have gone on the record with this vote. Only one did not.

That's not good.

13. That's no excuse.
No excuse at all.

(For the record - before I get painted as an Obama supporter, I'll categorically state that I was an Edwards supporter and neither one of the two remaining candidates have convinced me they're worth voting for. Just so we're clear here.)

21. Look at the Senate record of the vote.
Edited on Tue Feb-12-08 01:21 PM by americanstranger
Everybody else went on the record, for or against.

I'll ask you - what possible advantage can be spun out of a non-vote? I'm not being accusatory here, I'm genuinely curious.

24. She had other priorities.
Of course, the creation of a class that is above the law, a class guilty of breaking the law and abrogating our rights, seems to be not quite as important to her as whatever it was she was doing.

Perhaps she did not want to go on the record with a position on this. Such lack of action tends to keep the campaign contributions coming in from certain monied quarters, doncha' know.

But ultimately, these Democratic votes against stripping the language are our fault. WE have not gone to war with the Dems who voted Nay. We still keep buying the bullshit manipulations and byu-and-switch of people like Jim Webb, who is serial in his behavior. WE will excuse Mrs. Clinton's absence, using the most tortured of logic we can muster. WE worked on the campaigns of the Dems who voted NAY. WE roll over and show our bellies, for scratching, every time Reid, Pelosi, Hoyer or the other Dem leaders do something that vaguely looks like it is in our interests. WE do not hound them 24/7/365 to vote and legislate in our interest.

We eat their shit and call it ambrosia. We have only ourselves to blame.

12. That just confirms my voting decision...
When you move past the lip service and the rubber meets the road in things like votes, Obama actually works for us. Clinton either doesn't give a shit or works against us much of the time.

20. Yes, he voted AGAINST it...HRC voted "I can't be bothered with upholding people's rights"...
This speaks volumes about where her priorities lie...

Apparently NOT with the common folk...

What a STUPID thing to do...on a Primary day...
