So is military service no longer a requirement?
I have heard almost nothing this entire election cycle about the military service of the candidates in either party.

It used to be brought up and the #1 requirement regardless of the kind of service you did, whether it was in the movie-making department or if there were questions about your service. Of course that was only a one-way street and it was more than okay to question the QUALITY of service that you had provided, both Kerry's and McCain's.

Now you hear almost nothing about it.

Obama
Hillary

No military service of any kind. Why no mention....hold it (holds hand to ear) just getting word

Giuliani
Romney
Huckabee
Tancredo
Thompson

Hmm none of them had any military experience either.

Maybe the Republicans are so juvenile that they can't help but giggle and make eyes when talking about Ron Paul's career as an Air Force gynecologist.

But seriously where did that huge supposed prerequisite go to?

2. The party most likely to make it an issue doesn't like McCain
And at any rate it was never a prerequisite - in 2004 it was an issue because Republicans like to pretend that Democrats are weak on national security and Democrats like to let them.

I think if Obama is the nominee we'll see a resurgence of it.

4. You'll hear about it plenty during the GE..
Grandpa Johnny is already running ads featuring his time as a POW and taking nice little walks with Saint Ronny.

6. I think the issue should be whether or not a candidate is human. nt
