2. Got that right. K&R for stating the obvious.
Something that seems to elude too many of our Democrats these days.

the record and noting the failures of the Senate.

4. Thank you.I am watching it now on CSPAN2.
"Companies have immunity from civil liability when they cooperate with govt. as long as they receive a court order"

"If they do not follow that law, they should not get immunity. A court should make that decision, not Congress"

"If companies do not follow the law Congress passed, they should not get a get-out-of-jail free card after the fact"

-FEINGOLD

5. oh, WTF, I just sent each of those Senators who voted Nay
an e-mail, Charlie Rangel was just talking to Thom Hartman and apparently he said there is a love fest in the Senate, and the Dems do not control things the Repigs do. This is truly disgusting now, people we have to slam down these Senators, they are forgetting they are our REPRESENTATIVES and they are there to play by our rules. I am disgusted, gives more reason to fight back.

7. I have that sick feeling that
this bill will pass, Feingold, Boxer and the rest who are standing up for our rights won't be enough to overcome the sellouts.

11. Agree, Clinton and Obama should be speaking on this issue.
Since one of them will be the Dem nominee you would think they may have some clout and should be using that to try and sway some Dem votes.

Maybe I just do not understand.

12. Next will be S-1959 The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Act of 2007
which was known as HR 1955 and "passed" the House "vote" on October 23, 2007 with 404 ayes/6 nays/22 not voting.

When S-1959 comes up for a "vote" it will make thinking and speaking critically a "terrorist" act.

This is what the NAZIS did in the Weimar, incrementally "legalisms" led to the totalitarian Third Reich.
It is our turn now, it is happening before our eyes and ears.

The United States of America is morphing into HOMELAND (tm)-the most powerful military empire in human history, nation of The PATRIOT ACT, InfraGard, Blackwater, torture, politicized domestic spying, a Department of Just Us, a Department of HOMELAND Security.

Yep, call or e-mail the "leadership" that promised a change when we, the people put them in Congress November 2006. Your communication with the "leaders" of the "free world" and 110th Congress will be monitored and data-mined, you will pay for this "service" but give them a call anyway.

Senator Harry Reid, Democratic Majority Leader (202) 224-3542

Senate switchboard (202) 224-3121

Internet Congress public contact resources

Vote for "your" candidate for change this November (maybe).

15. Thanks for mentioning this bill....
I started to put pending legislation in the "Congress" forum for easy reference and I selected the forum as a favorite so it appears on top of my page.

So many times information about pending legislation gets lost in GD.

FWIW here is the link to that forum with some info on this bill.
