Pakistan's ambassador to Afghanistan goes missing

It is believed Pakistan's ambassador to Afghanistan has been abducted in a Pakistani tribal region where Islamist militants have carried out attacks.

Envoy Tariq Azizuddin was heading to the Afghan capital Kabul with his driver when he disappeared in the Khyber tribal district, a lawless region bordering Afghanistan.

Pakistan's foreign office said its embassy was still trying to find out details of Mr Azizuddin’s whereabouts.
