FISA Dilemma
The whole FISA immunity thing is a pretty big deal to me... I see it not only as wrong to grant immunity for what essentially was a crime, but also as a huge precedent for future administrations to fuck the population up the ass and get away with it and a further marginalization of the idea of checks and balances by cutting the judiciary out of things.
I will be unable to support any democrat that voted for it in the senate and who will vote for it in the house. I will also unfortunately no longer be willing to ever contribute to an organization that supports the democrats that voted for this in any way. I am however willing to help democrats who didn't vote in favor of immunity, or to contribute to any general organization that specifically excludes the democrats that voted in favor (probably not going to happen).
Do you guys feel that this means it's time to leave DU?

1. I knew there would be immunity so it is no big shock
Big corporations can do practically anything they want. The super-citizens win again.

As for leaving. Not a chance. If we are in a big bus going off a cliff I want to at least be in the front row to see it.

4. DU's old timers -- those with a passion for justice and progressivism
haven't really fit in here for awhile. It's still a great place in many ways, but over time the "Democratic" in the site's name took on a pro-party orthodoxy from which the "Underground" part is further and further removed.

It started as Democrats driven underground in a repuke world. Now we are driven underground by the "democratic" party.
