Just a quick weather report in Maryland |
|
We are having a nasty nasty ice storm right now. The roads that are treated aren't bad, untreated surfaces are basically a skating rink. Its 26 degrees outside and raining. :wtf:

A relief, because we're usually right on the ice storm line. It's been quite a while since we've had a snowfall you couldn't hear!

2. I'm just across the line in New Castle County, DE. |
|
In our development we just saw a salt truck sliding down our hill. Hubby went out to walk the dog and said we're already at over 1/4" of ice here and he couldn't walk well on the sidewalk or road. We have a big dog and she was just pulling him along. We were supposed to go out to a rehearsal tonight (dippy people didn't cancel it). Needless to say we didn't go anyplace and just received a call that only the director showed up so rehearsal was now cancelled.
Stay safe. I hope the lines don't come down. From what Accuweather says, we're supposed to start warming up slowly after 11:00 tonight and be all rain by tomorrow.

3. Was icy in MD on the way home. |

My class was canceled this evening. It took my husband 2 1/2 hours to get home from Germantown. Good thing that both of us voted this morning.

5. I drove from New Carrollton Metro Station to |
|
my home in Annapolis, a trip that usually takes 30 to 40 minutes in rush hour traffic. Tonight it took me 3 hours. I had to get off Route 50 onto Rt. 450 and over to 214 because the Severn River Bridge had one lane of traffic crossing it at a snail's pace and Rt. 50 was backed up to Bowie. It was special - especially with the freezing rain freezing on my windshield.
