Take a look at the Republican COUNTY numbers for Virginia...
McCain is winning in the populous northern Counties (where the military presence is), but in the very conservative western and souther Counties, he's losing by a 2:1 margin. So much for reaching out to the Right Wing...

Most likely not your point at all, but some here would argue it.
