Who else heard John McCain's victory speech last night?
The last sentence made me sit up and go "HUH"? "I'm fired up and ready to go"! Holy crap! Has he no shame? I hope that people who use Obama's slogans realize that they're showing admiration for him and his ideas.

1. McCain's is a Pony Express candidacy. Obama's HQ's got a telegraph.

5. I know quite a few people living here in Texas
who have used "fired up" for years and years.
Mostly older generations.
Obama did NOT coin that phrase. Sorry to tell you.

8. Fired up. Ready to go has been an Obama standard from the start.
He didn't just say "Ready to go". His last sentence was, and I repeat, "I'm fired up and ready to go." Sorry but that IS Obama's.

10. He's Punch Drunk...
When he was scripted, he's boring as all hell...but his "charm" is blurting out shit that doesn't make sense, gives a shit eatin' grin smile and the corporate media laughs like they "got it"...then go and call him such a "maverick". It's the shit he's said and pulled for years that fooled people into thinking he was moderate or even "liberal". He's co-opted so many different positions for his own political ends, he doesn't care what he says or how he says it.

The fun in the General Election will be which McCain hits the stump...the "outrageous maverick" who is sure to piss off his base or some automoton controlled by handlers.

why people are so afraid of this guy is beyond me. I guess he's just a tad less pathetic than Mittsy, that's about the best I can say about him.

13. ...repukes don't care and probably are not aware...
that Obama has used that phrase. Besides, "fired up and ready to go" is used all the time. My orchestra teacher in high school used to use it for pete's sake before a concert.

What we really should be concerned about it the fact that as soon as the primary is over, the repukes ARE going to gather around McCain...and they WILL be fired up. I've been listening to the other side, and they are ready to fight to keep power.

And all I know is, WE better be ready to support BO or HC. The repukes are not going to go down without a fight and we better be ready to rally and fight for OUR candidate. I hope we don't circle the wagons only to start shooting at each other.

I really hope that BO and HC decide to run on the same ticket. I worry about spitting the party. And we need ALL Democrats out there voting.
We need to win this unless we all are thinking of moving to Canada.

Anyway, that's how I feel.

23. Does it make any difference to you that...
In April 2007 I walked into the Obama HQ for the first time and saw a huge banner on the wall that said; FIRED UP. READY TO GO! Or that, at the very first Obama rally I attended in MAY, we were chanting "FIRED UP! READY TO GO!".

You have to admit that Obama started using those phrases (together) for a lot longer than John McCain. If you deny that, you're actively trying not to understand.

14. After listening to Obama's speech, then
listening to McCain's speech, I was struck by the stark contrast. The image on TV of McCain, surrounded by those old, tired white guys and girls was so starkly different than Obama, surrounded by thousands of young, older, energetic people of all races...I laughed out loud.

19. Warner Looked Younger than McCain
and had about 3x the expression. McCain doesn't look good or sound good at night...when he should be rallying the troops he looks ready for warm milk and a good night's sleep.

17. "briefing a flight crew"
This morning Pat Buchanan said McCain's victory speech looked like "he was briefing a flight crew." :-) He also noted the geriatric faces in the background, as compared to Obama's filled-to-capacity arena.

26. The old saying about teaching old dogs new tricks comes to mind..
besides, Grandpa Johnny doesn't strike me as the kind of person who accepts criticism, constructive or not. His entire staff has already bolted on him once, I'll be amazed if he gets through this without imploding in some fashion or another. He's a powder keg ready to go off. Maybe that's what he means by "fired up"?..

I actually woke up again some time right before he said that and I thought he was asking someone to take him to the bathroom. The food here in AZ can be very spicy
