Impeach All Of Congress....NOW |
|
....Why is Congress more interested in steroids in Major League Baseball then an administration that has lied and acted criminally with the PEOPLE of the USA.
IMO these hearing are a waste of time and will do nothing to make the USA a better place...
Waxman should be reading an indictment against BUSH/CHENEY.
I say we IMPEACH all of Congress TODAY for failing to carry out their constitutional duty to uphold the laws of this country...

It's on EVERY new channel live.
Don't we have BIGGER fish to fry? Like war criminals in the highest levels of govt. that need to be impeached?

2. and how would you propose that this "impeachment:" of Congress work? |
|
Do you even know what the constitution says about impeachment?
You don't like your congresscritter: vote against them. Folks in Maryland's 4th District just demonstrated that it can be done.

5. And how do you think that would come about? Vote in Repugs instead, perhaps? |
|
Do you have some sort of solution to this problem?

|
:eyes:
OP called for something for which there is no mechanism. Civics 101 is important lest we paint ourselves fools and be treated as such by media, RW pundits, and CONGRESS.

8. Voting Against Them Is Not Good Enough... |
|
......to say to them you have violated the law in which you swore an oath to.....the change this country needs is to have leaders who will stand for what is right and who will prosecute WRONG.

Members of Congress are not subject to impeachment. And I'll repeat my question: who do you think would conduct an "impeachment" of members of Congress?

22. It's unfortunate, but quite true. There |
|
is no constitutional way to impeach congress critters. Their fellow congress critters can censure them, but let's get real as to how likely that will be. That really hasn't happened all that often in congressional history.

4. It makes me nuts as well, especially to hear how |
|
all indignant and high-and-mighty they're getting about it, when they can't be bothered to be the slightest bit outraged at what's been going on with their fellow citizens for the past seven years, and with what BushCo has been doing to the country.
Unfortunately, I guess it kind of follows the way too many people are thinking in this country. Which is to say that a lot of people care more about Britney's breakdown, Lindsay's partying mishaps, Paris Hilton's latest dog-ventures, and who the next American Idol or Survivor will be than they do about what's happening in Iraq or other REAL news.

20. Exactly. Over 95% of incumbents running for re-election are re-elected. |
|
For years and years, dissatisfaction with Congress follws the same ol' story - the majority of folks in any Congressional District think it's those "other" Congresscritters that're the problem. That's why "term limits" is so popular - a way of getyting rid of the "other guy."
I personally would like to see a law that prohibited an incumbent from engaging in ANY fund-raising while holding elected office. No outside employment, no speaking fees, no campaigning (for current office or any other elected office - for self or any other politician) ... NOTHING. It seems to me that would kill two birds with one stone. It'd suppress influence-peddling while in office and level the p(l)aying field insofar as the advantage an incumbent has in re-election.
