Hypothetical: IF a DUer was to run 4 DC, could WE pull it off grass roots style? |
|
Read between the lines. IF a member of DU needed help and money before say March first, could we do it? This is a hypothetical question to avoid legal problems. Do we have any members that that know campaign law? Could we raise enough $ through a link on Act Blue that could be returned if we didn't raise a certain amount? Any thoughts?

3. The answer is.....Depends. |
|
Are you talking about a filing fee?
Yes it could be raised depending on the amount. On your FEC 1 and 2 (downloadable from the FEC) you can designate what to do with excess campaign funds. Donate to charity or return to donors (pro-rated after expenses).
I know from experience that people here will jump at the chance to help a long-time DUer.
That help?

IF somebody was told show us your grass roots with a certain level of $, and the party will let you proceed. Things will fall into place from all the groups that you have been friends with in the past at that point.

5. If you're talking DCCC, |

They won't even answer the phone unless you show them a minimum of $100k, and probably a lot more.

Nope. It would have been local. But the balloon didn't leave the ground.
