Under torture or the threat of torture or the threat of their families being tortured |
|
people through the ages have admitted to just about anything.
Gallileo renounced the Solar System.
Salem witches admitted to being the brides of Satan and making cows milk run dry and causing draught.
The great morons of our modern era (like Justice Scalia and others) will discuss the "ticking time bomb" scenario and how 9/11 changed eveything.
Like it made torture suddenly productive in ways it hadn't been in the past thousands of years.
Right. The only thing modern torture reveals is the same ignorance, sadism, and brutality it has always revealed.
Of the torturers.

is it okay to torture a "terrorist's" spouse? Or child? Or parents? That could "save" us in the event of a "ticking time bomb" too, couldn't it?
