If giving me $600.00 is gonna stimulate the economy
why not give me %6000.00? Hell bush won't care, he'll be off to Paraguay right after the next inauguration to avoid prosecution for his crimes and as cheney has so philosophically said - "deficits don't matter, reagan proved it." So let me do some awesome stimulating.

2. I can't help wondering what giving us $600 is going to do to the deficit.

3. spend that money locally...........don't throw it in the Bentonville drain......
since the checks will be sent in the early summer, spend some at the local Farmer's market, stock up at the local thrift store, get someone to pressure wash your house or back deck.........in other words, try to make that money turn at least one cycle before it gets sucked out to China.

11. where do you think this money came from? we barrowed it from china.
don't spend it at all. invest it in gold or euros. don't put play money back into the society. it will just drive up inflation.

6. c'mon BOSSHOG! If they gave you 6000
Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 10:39 AM by leftofthedial
some poor rich guy might only get 5,994,000! A rich guy simply *can't* get by on a penny less than 6 mill. You know that.

7. It's Called A Bribe
Obviously, booshog, you don't come cheap. This is supposed to make you think the guvermit "cares" and you'll like them. It's like publisher's clearing house...but this one the check actually is valid. Now you should joyfully re-elect your congresscritter cause you now have 600 reasons to do so. C'mon...you're being bought...get with the program.

:sarcasm:

Now that $600 almost...ALMOST...may cover the increase in gas, heating and other rising costs. And those who don't need the money...it goes right into the bank.

8. its the opposite of supply side economics
instead of giving money to the wealthy to start businesses so the money "trickles down" to us, we create immediate demand which starts the ball rolling.

As far as the deficit goes, Bush would cause one anyway so why not give that dough to me instead of some wealthy jackass.

10. But they're not even giving you $600.
But they're not even giving you $600.

They're loaning you $600 that belonged to you
in the first place and which the government has
been borrowing since they deducted it from your
paycheck.

They were going to pay it back to you next year
anyway!
