"There was music in the cafes at night and revolution in the air..."
Bob Dylan.

I pray that change is coming to this country. Just holding elected officials responsible almost seems like a revolutionary act anymore. Maybe Obama is right? Maybe this is change we can believe in? The cards are on the table. Let us see how they play them?

1. thanks for the lovely earworm
"Tangled Up in Blue" -- one of my favorite songs.

Perhaps it will take the people putting revolution in the air for real change to come.

6. I've always thought...
that the lyrics to that song could be turned into a movie.

Weave the characters into a love story.

10. I think that's true of so many Dylan songs.
When I listen to Dylan, I can "see" what he's saying, the story that he's telling.

2. Just as long as we don't start dealing with slaves.
"Then he started into dealing with slaves
And something inside of him died."

4. The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest
Well, the moral of the story,
The moral of this song,
Is simply that one should never be
Where one does not belong.
So when you see your neighbor carryin' somethin',
Help him with his load,
And don't go mistaking Paradise
For that home across the road.

9. From a great, totally under rated album.
John Wesley Harding. His first after the motorcycle accident. Just drums, bass, and Dylan on vocals, harmonica, piano and acoustic guitar, plus a steel guitar on two of the songs. I listen to it at least once a month... never get tired of it.

13. I'm more pissed off than you - same album, of course - "Idiot Wind"
"One day you'll be in the ditch, flies buzzin' around your eyes,
Blood on your saddle."

To a cowboy, somewhere.

14. I feel like the promise of the 60's
might, just MIGHT, be coming into fruition with the election of Obama - and it's a powerful, moving thought to hold, I gotta tell you.
