Will Bu*h and Cheney order another terrorist attack against the US |
|
in order to punish our Democratic Congress for not passing the FISA bill?
Would they do something like this as a political maneuver in order to make Democrats look bad for protecting the Constitution?
Personally, I would not put it past them. Listening to Bu*h talk in his Dracula like there's gonna be a WMD mushroom cloud mode this morning, I seriously began to worry.
Terror is the republicans main political ally.

1. Let the bastards do it... |
|
If that's how they hold our entire nation hostage...the Dems need to tell them to release the hounds.
It's better than living in fear.
Also, why aren't the Dems doing a better job of communicating that they are, indeed, standing up for the Constitution? It's like they don't even want to make the case.
If they stood up, told the truth and fought 85 percent of American would be on their side.
What in the hell keeps our Dems silent and weak?

3. The news about Pakistani nuclear scientists |
|
being kidnapped had me worried.
The release of the Iran NIE last year showed that there are some govt officials with backbone willing to stand up to Bush-Cheney. If only the NSA could wiretap the WH (and Cheney's office) that would be the safest way to protect America.

24. The problem as I see it |
|
is that Bush-Cheney can spy on everyone else with no oversight but no one is allowed to know what *they* are doing.
The WH has become a legal blackhole with no oversight and no accountability - the perfect breeding ground for criminality.

6. It's possible , if they could let people die in NOLA |
|
and everywhere else and get away with it then I would say they are willing to do whatever it takes to put the fear back into the people .
I still think even though some people are sick of this fear tactic that many others will by into it .

He's still of the opinion that Bush/Cheney will do anything to declare martial law and stay in power, and I used to feel that way, but I'm starting to think that maybe that won't happen. We shall see, though.

|
All the hoopla surrounding the Primaries is just Theatre to give us the false sense that all is well. The Bu$h WH didn't bust ass these past years to put together all the components of a full-on dictatorship to just quietly walk away from all that power and enrichment.

A major terrorist incident would be his best friend, provided that people completely lose their minds over it the way they did back in 2001.

But I point to the Military Industrial Complex as much as the Bush admin in particular. Figuratively, all MIC needs to do is press a button to make it happen.
They own all the buttons.
They probably know scientifically how to spread fear too, whether it's though propaganda or putting chemicals in our food if they have to. Maybe I sound crazy, but with all the chemicals in it already, and MIC owning chemical companies.... Anyway, I digress.

13. Though they didn't 'order' a terrorist attack, they've sure made (R) hay with it. |
|
You're right in that terror is the main Republican meme. Fortunately, fewer and fewer of Americans are buying the sky is falling mantra. Giuliani's brief primary run showed it up for what it is. Pandering of the worst sort.

legitimately blame Congress anymore. If you haven't seen the Olbermann "commentary," find one of the numerous threads with links to it. It is GREAT!

15. I've always thought they might do it to prevent the election from occurring- |
|
to put us into Martial law, do whatever global or national damage they want, rape the rest of our resources and rights and then- well I didn't actually get to the "and then" part. I was thinking that might take place in maybe July or August - maybe September, just before the election.
But, a little "incident" related to being pissed off about FISA, which would also give McCain (and probably Hillary too) a bit of a bump is not a bad idea for them and right up their alley.
God help us- the next 8 months are going to quite a ride.

I am a criminal profiler who has been over seas. I can tell you in 1991 Osama tried to blow up the world trade center. It was 2001 when they struck again. Given those time lines it could be about time again. I bet when it's done the world trade center they will go after it again.
It could be part of a MO but is not clear at this time if they strike every 10 years. I know Osama is probably laughing in some cave because more Americans have died in Iraq than the world trade center.
