1. Just imagine him on a debate stage with Barack Obama
The contrast will be striking. People will realize how much of a relic McCain is, both politically and chronologically.

8. So true.
Although I greatly admire Hillary's ability to articulate well and focus on the important points, Obama's ability to draw major distinctions between the Dem agenda and the GOP mindset far exceed hers.

4. He really is ...
... on so many levels.

And he's still selling that old meme about "fighting 'em over there so we don't have to fight 'em over here."

No one ever asks these people the obvious question: "If Al Qeada had plans to attack in the US, exactly how would our troops being in Iraq prevent that, or thwart that plan in any way?"

7. No matter what I think of him as a politician, I worry about the stress
he's putting himself through. He's aging very rapidly lately and this can't be good for him. A few times, it looked to me as if he's losing a little cognitive function. Running for president might not be the best thing for someone in his position.

13. Agreed.
He's been 'caught' (for lack of a better word) denying his own statements within a week of making them - and I don't believe that's political back-tracking as much as a real inability to remember what he has stated from one day to the next.

Living in the unrelenting pressure-cooker of a campaign takes a toll on even the youngest and healthiest politicians - it is a disaster for someone who is already dealing with the onset of mental deterioration due to aging and illness.

11. I'm really surprised that this is the best the GOP could do.
What makes me sad, though, is that McCain would have been a much better president than the chimp in 2000, if we HAD to be cursed with a GOP president at that point in history. But the moment for McCain has passed, and I don't think his body is going to hold out, much less his mind.

14. Who would really want to run this year? If the election is clean
the Thugs stand to lose big. It's a suicide mission, imho.

When he is on stage next to Obama...what an unbelievable contrast.
