I Don't Think It Has Really Registered Yet What A Victory We Won Yesterday |
|
I can not give enough thanks to Democrats in the House of Representatives (or little enough to a cowardly Senate) for standing up to Bush yesterday and 'just saying no'. The height of the day occurred when a petulant Bush angrily offered to delay his flight for a little bit so wayward Representatives could be shown the light. That has been the nature of his Hubris. No more. They sent him the right message. He is irrelevant to the process, the People and their Representatives are in control. "Your days are numbered, boy."
There had to be a great deal of fear in the White House last night. The veil is down, the would-be King has no clothes, he has no power, he has lost his ability to rule the People's house.
The tide has turned, if we put on pressure now we can run them right out of town. Nancy seems to have got the word, now if Harry would only follow suit.

3. Then call your local radio stations and news papers and ask they why? |
|
Make them report the news. Call them up, ask them what is wrong with them for not covering this NATIONAL NEWS. Raise hell.

2. I'm cautiously optimistic... |
|
But I have to stress the word "cautiously". We've been let down so many times it's hard to get excited about the actions of congress.

4. That's a shame, because caution never spreads. If you were wildly optomistic on the other hand ... |
|
People would listen to you and come to agree with your opnion.

6. Something happened yesterday. |
|
It seemed that the Dems finally have had enough. They have been ignored, abused and disrespected for years, now. I hope this was a tipping point. I want to see them fight for OUR democracy.
Full steam ahead! Let us call them, and tell them they are starting down the right track. I feel they are not going to put up with chimpy's shit anymore.

11. "ignored, abused and disrespected"---Not to mention pusillanimous, craven, and gullible. |
|
Edited on Fri Feb-15-08 09:05 AM by WinkyDink
It took way too long for them to see the only way to deal with a bully is to confront, not to acquiesce. Or, rather, too long to know this and yet wait until laws were passed and people were dead.

7. I think you're right. As KO said last night, we're done letting fear |
|
control us. This was a huge effort by the House Dems, and you know they ticked off a lot of people.
I do wonder what the hurry is/was for *. Seems like they're afraid their own behinds might be on the line. That would make it doubly delicious, if so.
The meek little lambs have hopefully found their spines.

9. I was thoroughly impressed with the Unity of the Dem message. |
|
Pelosi was even in on it! It wasn't a few courageous, it was a Strong Party.
That is what leadership can do. Get after it, Dems!
