I feel bad but just as bad as the next guy I guess.

I have no special insight into this. My opinion carries no more weight that the next person on the various issues that relate to it.

My point is people often say things like "As a mother, I..." or "As a Army vet I..." then spout some nonsense that is supposed to have some greater weight because of some supposed special status. Greater moral weight, etc. It is bullshit, really. It diminishes the ones you disagree with in an underhanded way.

So stop it. You are not special. I am not special. Stop trying to build yourself up.
